London Pubs Week 7-15 November 2009

LocAle logo

CAMRA invites real ale drinkers to celebrate London Pubs Week by drinking beers from London breweries: Brodies, Fuller's, Meantime, Sambrook's, Twickenham or from others within thirty miles of your local.

An ale trail passport is available featuring 36 pubs that are participating in the CAMRA London Branches' 'LocAle' scheme. Passport holders are invited to drink a local cask ale in each of these pubs during the nine day period and for one of the bar staff to sign or stamp and date their passport.

Completed passports submitted and checked will then be entered into a prize draw for a polypin (36 pints) of the new premium bitter that Sambrook's Brewery will be launching to coincide with London Pubs Week. The draw will take place on Friday 5 December at the Pig's Ear Beer Festival at the Ocean, Hackney. Vouchers for free admission for a session at a London beer festival in the New Year will be available as consolation prizes.

Kimberley Martin, CAMRA London Regional Director, said "With 52 pubs closing each week, this is a really fun way to support pubs and local breweries as well as the opportunity to win a prize. But even if you can't manage the whole passport, we are urging everyone to pop along and support some of London's fantastic pubs".

The pubs on the passport trail are attached. The passports will be available - first come, first served - from each of the pubs, from London CAMRA branches and from the CAMRA Headquarters in St Albans. They are also being sent out with the November issue of the CAMRA magazine, What's Brewing, to all CAMRA members living within Greater London.
