The Lord Clyde makes it a first

The Lord Clyde in Essex Road N1 has made it into CAMRA's (Campaign for Real Ale) Good Beer Guide for the first time. The pubs were shortlisted from many hundreds of pubs in the North London area to become one only 4500 pubs across the UK to be in the 2010 Guide.

John Cryne, the local branch chairman said "It's always difficult to choose which pubs should go in the Guide. Throughout the year our members check hundreds of pubs incognito to find those that are selling the most consistent pint of good real ale. We are delighted that the Lord Clyde has made it into the 2010 Good Beer Guide. It has shown a continual commitment to quality real ale and is an good example of how a pub can combine new with old. It serves and welcomes all types of customers".

The pub uses wood throughout for its extensive paneling and floors, the bar and its furniture. Alternative seating is provided by comfortable battered sofas and arm chairs. Modern art on the walls provides a contrast. It also has WiiFi available for its customers

The Lord Clyde is known for its Sunday roasts, which are served 12.00-19.00

The pub will be given their 2010 Good Beer Guide window sticker at 8pm on Tuesday 29th September where a few pints will be lifted in celebration.
