The Junction Tavern in Kentish Town has been voted North London Pub of Year 2008 by the Campaign for Real Ale. With five cask ale pumps on the bar, each week The Junction Tavern offers around fifteen different guest ales from regional British breweries. Recently featured beers include Cornish Mutiny (4.8%) from Wooden Hand Brewery in Cornwall, and the award-winning Pieces of Eight (3.8%) from Nelson's Brewery in Chatham, Kent. The house ale, Deuchar's IPA (3.8%), is a light, hoppy golden ale from the Caledonian Brewery in Edinburgh. Friendly, informal and proudly pubby, The Junction Tavern dispenses its beers over an old fashioned bar, in a room with impressively high ceilings and ornate wooden paneling. The dining room, airy conservatory and heated beer garden are further reasons to make a detour to this corner of Kentish Town.

THE JUNCTION TAVERN 9TH BEER FESTIVAL

Landlords Jacky Kitching & Chris Leech host their 9th Beer Festival at The Junction Tavern over the May Spring Bank Holiday weekend - Friday 23rd to Monday 26th May - featuring a number of Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) 2008 award winners. An excellent selection of over 40 different ales from independent brewers across the country will be racked on a special cooling system in the bar and pints poured straight from the barrel. A beer list and tasting notes are available. CAMRA members (with a valid membership card) can take advantage of special prices.

Head Chef Thomas Locker's daily changing menu relies on fresh, seasonal ingredients. Dishes for the Beer Festival include Beer Battered Hoki Fillet with Pea Puree, Real Ale Cake with Kentish Town Honey and for those who've had their fill of beer, Steamed Mussels & Clams in Somerset Cider.

CAMRA MEMBERS MONTHLY MONDAYS

Following the Beer Festival, on the first Monday of every month CAMRA members (with a valid membership card) are treated to special ale prices. Valid June to December 2008.
