Nice to hear from Hector McNeil who informs us of the MX9s - an annual tournament which is held on the Rugby League Challenge Cup weekend. The CC is on Sat 26th Aug at Twickenham, the MX9s is held the day after, 27th August. It is a nine aside competition involving 16 teams from around the world. Each game is 15 minutes long; it’s a knock out competition that will last from noon to 7pm. The good news for beer drinkers is that alongside the rugby, a beer festival is being run by Neil Suddaby from Malton Brewery in North Yorkshire. Beers include Suddabys house beers and also guest beers. At least 12 beers will be included. The entrance fee is £10 for the event and that includes entrance to the beer festival. The MX9s will be held at New River Stadium, White Hart Lane, Wood Green, N22 8QW. Nearest tube Wood Green, Piccadilly line. The beer festival will be held at the stadium’s bar, the Olympic Suite which is in the grand stand.
