North London Goes LocAle
North London CAMRA is backing the growing demand for local produce
and support for green issues by launching CAMRA's LocAle scheme in
its branch area. The formal launch took place at the Duke of
Wellington, Balls Pond Road, N1.

The Wellington is one of three pubs who have, so far, joined this
great initiative to encourage pubs to stock at least one
locally-produced real ale. The other two pubs are the Duke of
Hamilton in Hampstead and the Bree Louise in Euston.
The scheme encourages pubs to stock cask beers brewed within 30
miles of the pub although, in order to encourage brewing in London,
greater emphasis is being put upon beers sourced from the capital,
such as Brodies, Fuller's, Meantime, Sambrooks and Twickenham.
CAMRA is also eagerly anticipating the opening of a new brewery
in Tottenham.
The original 'LocAle' concept was created in 2007 by CAMRA's
Nottingham branch.
