Jazz, Brass, Beer & a Touch of the Cockney!

Great British Beer Festival

No where but at CAMRA's Great British Beer Festival would you get such a mix. With over 700 real ales, ciders and perries plus imported beer from countries such as Germany, Belgium, USA and the Czech Republic, the Festival offers a delight for the taste buds. And the choice of music is equally wide. Wednesday evening is a rave from the grave with Chas 'n Dave, Friday lunchtime has Jazzy Trousers and Saturday afternoon sees the welcome return of Fulham Brass Band. But as the Festival takes place in Olympia, it is big enough to ensure that you can get away from the music if that is what you prefer, and perhaps learning a little bit more about beer may suit your tastes more. In which case, there are a number of tastings arranged including an opportunity to taste the Champion Beer of Britain category winners, Belgian or German beers, or what about the chocolate and beer session for something completely different. Prices are from £11 (plus entrance fee) with a £2 discount for Members. See the Festival website or phone 01727 867201 for details.

Great British Beer Festival

The Great British Beer Festival offers much more than just beer and music. There is an amazing range of food with styles from around the world as well as traditional pub favourites including Cornish pasties, seafood and sausages. To add to the Festival atmosphere, there are also traditional pub games, pub quizzes, tombolas and daily auctions including the opportunity to bid for a place on a trip to Yorkshire' Timothy Taylor's Brewery, the home of Landlord, Madonna's favourite real ale. And all ages are catered for because there is a family room, open until 9 pm, with entertainers and games but please note children must be supervised by a family member at all times. And if you fancy a good deal, book your ticket before 23rd July and get a £1 discount on a single session ticket; it also helps beat the queues. So what are you waiting for?
