The North London branch of CAMRA started its 30th anniversary celebrations in fine style with a visit to the Spread Eagle in Albert Street, Camden. A certificate was presented to the pub by local CAMRA representative, Mike Rose (seen, left, in the picture), to commemorate the fact that this pub was only one of a handful selling real ale when the branch was formed 30 years ago. The pub, which is owned by Young's, is a two room traditional community pub with dark wood panelling. In summer, there is outside bench seating but the big picture window in the smaller room gives an opportunity to watch the world go by. Pub fare is available lunchtimes and until 9pm in the evenings. The Spread Eagle provides a more traditional stop off from Camden Market and offers Young's Bitter, Special and the Young's seasonal beers.
