30th Anniversary Celebrations
by Mike Rose
CAMRA North London Branch was founded in 1974 – thirty years ago at a time when very few pubs in north London served real ale. To celebrate this significant event, the Branch has decided to award certificates to pubs which served real ale 30 years ago and which still serve real ale today. One certificate has already been presented to the Spread Eagle, Albert St NW1 (see page 5).
The next few certificates scheduled to be presented are:
| 27 January | Enterprise, Red Lion St, WC1 |
| 10 February | Pakenham Arms, Pakenham St, WC1 |
| 24 February | Flask, Flask Walk, NW3 |
| 30 March | Island Queen, Noel Rd, N1 |
| 29 June | Railway Tavern, Crouch End Hill, N8 |
One current north London pub that has just started serving real ale again is the Huntingdon (pictured), Hemingford Road, Barnsbury, N1. Well worth a visit!
