Beer and festival news round up
Ask If Its Cask.
The (almost) Naked Truth as reported in the last edition of the Full Pint: CAMRA launched the next phase of its "Ask if its Cask" Campaign last month. Under the banner of "100% Natur-ale" the new posters caused a real stir, particularly the one featured here (left). Mike Benner, CAMRA's Head of Campaigns, said "We've really started the ball rolling in making cask ale appeal to younger drinkers. By using beautiful, tasteful and colourful images of carefully selected models wearing only hops and lying on a bed of barley, we are breaking out of the boring laddish marketing of beer so familiar to our TV screens".
Beer Festival Madness.
Although the warmer weather might be disappearing, the Autumn season brings its own delights. Autumn really is the start of the beer festival season in the South East and that means the opportunity to taste beers from all over the country without travelling the miles. What's more this is also a great time to join CAMRA as most of the beer festivals will offer a discount to CAMRA members. A great opportunity for you to save some money and support real ale and pubs. Just fill in the form in this newsletter or by joining at the Festival itself. All the beer festivals have over 30 real ales (most 40+), ciders, perries and imported beers.
