- Large pub amongst local shops in residential area. Refurbished
August 2007 to create a partly partitioned off restaurant (24 covers); settees
introduced elsewhere. Beer prices have risen sharply. Big tent for smokers
in garden. Number of TV screens reduced.

- At £2.90 a pint (August 2006) for Bombardier you may
need your chequebook. When this famous pub reclaimed its original name (from
'Scruffy Murphys') a few years ago, an effort was made to promote Real Ale
with casks behind the bar. Sadly these have now made way for wine and spirits.

- Renamed September 2008 after only 11 months as 'New Bull and
Butcher' (previously just 'Bull and Butcher'). Name change reflects the 2007
introduction of a well equipped 250 capacity back room which features live
rock bands at weekends and free jazz session Sunday afternoons. Covered, outside
seating area on main road for smokers. Back to keg only after a brief return
of real ale.

6pm Mon-Fri. Sea food stall out front at weekends.
